Reviewer Ethical Guidelines

Conflicts of Interest

The review process is a double-blind review. However, if a reviewer determines that a conflict of interest has arisen after they are assigned the review, where they can no longer complete an unbiased, fair review, the reviewer should contact the managing editor immediately and not complete the review. Additional information regarding reviewer conflicts of interest can be found in the journal policies under the about drop down menu.

Confidentiality of Reviews

Reviewers should respect the confidential nature of the review process. Reviewers should not discuss or share details related to the review. The authors retain the copyright of the manuscript under review and reviewers are not permitted to share the manuscript nor are they permitted to upload the manuscript nor any part of the manuscript or the review information into Artificial Intelligence editing software or Generative Artificial Intelligence models. Reviewers should not use any information obtained during the review process for their own or other’s advantage.

Review Ownership

Reviewers retain the ownership to their reviews, however, confidentiality of the reviews must be maintained. Once submitted, reviews become part of the editoral record of the journal. Authors will receive reviewer comments as part of the official record and authors are not permitted to use the reviews for their own use outside of making corrections to their submitted manuscript.

Review Transferability

Reviews completed within the PKP system for the Journal of Agricultural Education cannot be transferred to other journals within the PKP portfolio.
